With Liminal winning the 2010 New Music Award (congratulations to them!) I now have to rethink how aroundNorth may be realised. Everyone I spoke to at last night’s award ceremony remained enthusiastic about aroundNorth‘s potential, and certainly Armagh Observatory is still dedicated to the project. So, it’s back to the drawing board for the moment to consider the most appropriate course of action.

I find web site confusing
where / how can I actually hear some music?
The aroundNorth composition is not yet composed. I am still in research stage and trying to acquire funding for the idea. Currently, the proposed composition is short listed for the New Music Award, and if successful this will fund the work’s creation, and then my schedule will be to complete the work by the end of December 2011. When composition of the work begins properly, I hope to be able to post various snippets of the work-in-progress on this site – so, please do keep an eye on the work’s development.
A strong idea that needs to happen !! keep me up to date.
